Sobre IBD

Black brotherhoods were institutions of social and religious inclusion used by non-whites throughout the colonial period. They served as a major vehicle for the empowerment of slaves, freedmen, and free blacks in the face of the adversities of slave society. This work seeks to solidify historiographical knowledge on the subject and, at the same time, insert the black community of Paraná into history.
