Os sistemas híbridos de energias renováveis (HRES) que combinam biomassa com energia solar, eólica, hidroelétrica e armazenamento de energia oferecem uma solução promissora para as necessidades energéticas da Argélia. O país dispõe de recursos renováveis abundantes, com um vasto potencial solar nas zonas desérticas, vento ao longo da costa e alguma capacidade hidroelétrica. A biomassa, proveniente de resíduos agrícolas, pode complementar a energia solar e eólica, atenuando os problemas de intermitência. Os sistemas de armazenamento de energia, como as baterias, permitem a retenção do excesso de energia para utilização durante os períodos de baixa produção. Ao integrar estas tecnologias, a Argélia pode reduzir a dependência dos combustíveis fósseis, diminuir as emissões e aumentar a segurança energética. Embora a energia hidroelétrica seja limitada, pode ainda contribuir para um sistema híbrido quando combinada com outras energias renováveis. Esta abordagem apoia os objectivos da Argélia em matéria de energias renováveis, que visam uma capacidade renovável de 27% até 2030, posicionando o país como líder regional em soluções energéticas sustentáveis. Os investimentos estratégicos em infra-estruturas de rede e tecnologias de armazenamento serão fundamentais para maximizar a eficácia destes sistemas.
