Simon versus Simon is the coming-of-age story of Lucius, a wealthy young citizen of Rome with a rebellious edge, whose father sends him away to apprentice as a carpenter in Judea. His father intends that the hard work teach Lucius a lesson. Instead, Lucius meets James, who becomes his mentor, teaches him about Christianity, and who takes him on a mission across the Mediterranean. Magicians, soothsayers, and druids are just some of the characters he meets along the way. Most importantly, Lucius witnesses the conflict between two important figures vying for spiritual control of the 1st century; Simon Peter and Simon Magus. The clash between the Simons culminates in high-flying suspense, and a duel of biblical proportions. Simon versus Simon blends genres – picaresque, fantasy, romance, and comedy – into rich historical fiction that is sure to entertain. 3
