Simo Häyhä: My Winter War Memories introduces you to all the memories Simo Häyhä shared of his Winter War and life.In his own words.The aim of the book is to bring you everything Simo Häyhä himself ever spoke or wrote of his war.His Winter War Memories have been contextualized with visualized story and information chapters related to the events and people he mentioned.The book is divided into three interconnected parts that illuminate each other further on.In the first part you fill find all the memories Simo Häyhä shared of his Winter War already in the war time. In this part his 2017 discovered, handwritten War Memoir has been combined and contextualized along with his other Winter War memories to form an unified narrative of his war.The second part highlights Simo Häyhä’s life and further Winter War recollections, including his feelings and thoughts on war and beyond. The many myths surrounding him are clarified through research of the original sources.The third part follows Häyhä’s famous company, 6/JR 34, led by captain Aarne Juutilainen, the Terror of Morocco, on one of the most legendary fronts of the Winter War, Kollaa. Häyhä’s brothers in arms share their memories of him and of the war on Kollaa. As the war goes on first ever reports of a sniper called Simo Häyhä emerge among the tales of the war.The book is based on research in all the original sources related to Simo Häyhä and the Kollaa front of the Winter War.
