The entire world changed after 9/11. The threat of terrorism, both internationally and domestically, spread like a cancer. No one was safe from the threat. New cells were emerging every day. It was not if something would happen but when.It was a nice clear day in Chicago and the beginning of a new work day. People woke up and tended to their daily rituals without suspecting anything bad could happen to them. Children went to school, bakers tended to making breads and cakes, teachers were setting up for classes, businessmen were heading to meetings, and basically, it was a normal day. Like clockwork, the day turned tragic when people in the Chicagoland area became violently ill around the same time of day and died in a matter of hours. What could be happening? There were no bombs, no biological alarms, and no warnings-just death. Two scientists from the CDC were sequestered to determine the cause of people dying of unknown reasons. Deaths weren’t in single digits but in the thousands. No one was safe. What was the cause? As fast as the crisis started, it ended. It became clear that this was an act of terrorism using municipal drinking water as the delivery agent. Safeguards would need to be employed immediately to prevent any further occurrences in every municipal drinking water facility in the United States as well as worldwide.

  • Meritocrats

Stuart Evans’s first novel is a comedy-of-ill-manners set in a nouveau riche milieu: a fantastic satirical performance and hyper-referential homage to masters past and present. Paul Keller is the Stephen Dedalus of the piece, the son of Robert and Sylvie, whose internal monologue is spliced into the action, and whose incestuous feelings for his sister lead to an increase in his...
