Silence Farm is a novel written by William Sharp and published in 1899. The story is set in a small farming community in rural England and follows the lives of the inhabitants of Silence Farm. The main character is a young woman named Kate, who is forced to take over the farm after her father’s death. Kate struggles to maintain the farm and provide for her family, while also dealing with the challenges of being a woman in a male-dominated society. Along the way, she meets a young man named Tom, who becomes her friend and ally. Together, they navigate the challenges of running a farm and dealing with the social and economic pressures of their time. The novel explores themes of gender roles, class, and the changing nature of rural life in the late 19th century. It is a poignant and insightful portrayal of a bygone era and the people who lived in it.This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
