Silas Farsight and the Children of Aldebaran is a fantasy adventure for young people set in a future when the Animals once again rule. One day a raiding party of cats kidnaps two for the otters, Magda and Anya. Silas Farsight, another otter and the lawyer in the village they live in, sets off on a desperate rescue mission accompanied by his clerk, a stoat, and helped by the badgers and foxes. His journey leads hiim tot he sea-otter corsairs, where he finds that he is the long-lost son of onbe of the most famous of their warriors, who was hidden in the woodland village for safety.  Yet even witht he aid of the sea-otters and the other free animals, their hope of defeating the enemy, the Great Cat, is slim. The greatest weapon of the sea-otters, that was lost in the Wildcat Wars a generation earlier, nust be recovered. But will they be found in time? A ripsnorting yarn that never slackens pace. Silas Farsight and the Children of Aldebaran will delight readers of all ages but is especially aimed at the 11-16 age group.
