Johnny is a young adult living in a small rural town in Australia and is deeply invested in the close friendships and culture around him. By acting on feelings of dissatisfaction through poor decision making, he finds himself on the cusp of a complicated and secret relationship which causes him to develop increasing levels of anxiety. He reluctantly deceives those closest to him in order to conceal the secret. Subsequently, this leads to his unpredictable behaviour and an increase in visits to the pub with his mates in order to manufacture lasting memories and happiness. Despite the inherited ’she’ll be right’ philosophy adopted by many Australians culturally, Johnny struggles internally with the immorality of his actions and also develops waves of paranoia, with a fear of what consequences he may have to face as a result.
