O presente trabalho de investigação, intitulado 'Caracterização dos recursos geomórficos utilizando a teledeteção e o sistema de informação geográfica para avaliar a ocupação do solo numa zona com stress hídrico', foi analisado e interpretado a partir de diferentes dados de satélite e mapas topográficos. Os objectivos do estudo consistiam em estimar os recursos hídricos de superfície disponíveis utilizando dados de satélite multitemporais e mapas topográficos SOI; determinar a importância dos recursos hídricos de superfície para determinar a ocupação do solo da área selecionada. Com base nos recursos geomórficos e LULC, os recursos hídricos superficiais e as zonas potenciais de recolha de água foram identificados e depois classificados. Finalmente, o autor formulou um novo plano sazonal de utilização do solo para a região com base nos recursos acima referidos.
