Ce travail est basé sur l’ensemble des travaux que nous avons utilisés pour détecter la carence énergétique chronique (CED) parmi la population adulte vulnérable dans les pays aux ressources limitées, comme l’Éthiopie. L’utilisation de la circonférence du bras médian-supérieur (MUAC) pour détecter les déficiences énergétiques chroniques s’est avérée efficace, facile et ne nécessitant qu’un mètre ruban. Elle convient au dépistage nutritionnel dans les situations d’urgence où le temps et le personnel qualifié manquent cruellement.
