La Malaisie est un pays chaud et humide. Son climat est propice à la vie et à la reproduction des mangroves. Les forêts de mangroves sont concentrées sur la côte ouest de la Malaisie, et c’est dans l’État de Perak qu’elles sont les plus répandues. Les mangroves sont très appréciées depuis longtemps en raison de leurs nombreuses utilisations. Cependant, au cours des dernières décennies, des espèces de mangroves ont disparu de la carte. Cela est dû à plusieurs activités mises en place pour répondre aux besoins d’une population croissante. Il s’agit notamment de l’exploitation forestière illégale, des activités agricoles et de l’urbanisation. Il est important de sensibiliser les habitants à la question de la disparition des mangroves afin d’endiguer le problème.
