Ce travail pré-scientifique examine une sélection de méthodes de calcul mental et leur applicabilité dans la vie quotidienne. Il présente des stratégies pour débutants et avancés, dont des astuces de calcul pour les opérations de base, le système à deux doigts de Trachtenberg ainsi qu’une méthode basée sur la mémorisation des nombres complémentaires. L’objectif est d’évaluer la praticabilité de ces méthodes et de montrer leur utilité dans différentes situations de la vie quotidienne.L’accent est également mis sur l’importance du calcul mental dans le système éducatif. La pratique actuelle de l’enseignement est analysée à l’aide du programme scolaire autrichien et d’entretiens avec deux enseignants de mathématiques expérimentés. Une comparaison avec l’enseignement des mathématiques en Chine et un entretien avec un enseignant chinois viennent compléter le tout. Le travail se termine par des réflexions sur la manière d’améliorer durablement la capacité de calcul mental des élèves.
