Select Orations of Cicero is a collection of speeches by the renowned Roman statesman and orator, Marcus Tullius Cicero. This book was originally published in 1841 and contains some of Cicero’s most famous speeches, including his defense of the poet Archias, his attack on the corrupt governor Verres, and his plea for the impeachment of the senator Catiline. The speeches are presented in their original Latin, with an English translation provided alongside for readers who are not fluent in the language. The book also includes an introduction by the editor, which provides background information on Cicero’s life and career, as well as an analysis of his oratorical style.
