Ist die Justiz von den Erwartungen der Bürger abgekoppelt? Sind die Justiz und das Recht zu starr gegenüber Personen, die sich verteidigen wollen? Es ist interessant, die unterschiedlichen Ansichten von Juristen und Personen, die nicht mit dem Recht vertraut sind, zu beobachten und sich nach den Gründen für diese unterschiedliche Sichtweise zu fragen. In dieser Arbeit soll der Begriff 'Selbstverteidigung' hinterfragt werden, der in der Bevölkerung oft für Aufregung und Unverständnis sorgt. Dabei werden sowohl die Grundlagen dieses Begriffs als auch die unterschiedliche Behandlung von Ordnungskräften und Bürgern erörtert, wobei auch einige aktuelle Medienfälle (der sogenannte Fall des Juweliers von Nizza sowie die Fälle Alexandra Lange und Jacqueline Sauvage) zur Sprache kommen. Es wird also gezeigt, dass die Selbstverteidigung eine soziale Notwendigkeit ist, die für die Gesellschaft unverzichtbar ist. Dieses Buch richtet sich sowohl an Juristen als auch an Personen, die Fragen zu diesem Begriff haben und die Selbstverteidigung von Personen besser verstehen möchten.
