Der Abrigo do Forro Negro in der Gemeinde Arcos, Minas Gerais, gehört zu einer Gruppe natürlicher Hohlräume in einem Kalksteinmassiv, das sich im Abbaugebiet der Firma Pró-Calcário Ltda befindet. Es war der einzige natürliche Hohlraum, der archäologische Überreste aufwies, was das für die Arbeiten und die anschließenden Analysen verantwortliche Team überraschte, da vier menschliche Skelette und zwei weitere unvollständige Knochensätze gefunden wurden. Aus diesem Grund wird dieser Felsenunterschlupf durch einen Puffer von 150 Metern geschützt, der um ihn herum eingerichtet wurde.
