Schwannomy przedsionkowe to łagodne nowotwory powstające w części przedsionkowej ósmego nerwu czaszkowego, stanowiące około 5% wszystkich pierwotnych guzów wewnątrzczaszkowych. Najczęstszymi objawami są utrata słuchu i szumy uszne. Badaniem obrazowym z wyboru jest rezonans magnetyczny. W przypadku pacjentów zdolnych do poddania się zabiegowi chirurgicznemu leczeniem z wyboru jest operacja, jednak w niektórych przypadkach można zastosować leczenie zachowawcze lub radiochirurgię. Podejście chirurgiczne należy dostosować indywidualnie do wielkości guza i stanu słuchu. Najważniejszym powikłaniem po operacji pozostaje niedowład twarzy. Wyniki leczenia są dobre w większości przypadków, a odsetek nawrotów jest niski.
