School research became mandatory in primary and secondary schools during the 1971 Education Reform, through Law 5692 - Law on Guidelines and Bases for National Education. Since then, students and teachers have had this tool to enable increased learning and knowledge building. But how is school research actually applied? Who are the agents of this action? Has it become something imposed? Is it effective? To answer these questions, we must analyse three fundamental aspects of the process: teachers, students, and librarians.
