Tom Siewert does not claim to be an extraordinary person, but rather a normal guy who has had a wealth of extraordinary experiences, a life of incredible variety. Over the years he kept journals and wrote copious letters to the friends he made around the world. Now retired and living in China, he decided to put all of these writings together and weave them into a more cohesive narrative. May you find these tales interesting, amusing, touching, a cornucopia of feelings and experiences.'I’ve lived in the states of Virginia, North Carolina, Florida, Alaska, Oregon, California, Arizona, and Colorado, and traveled to all of the other states except North Dakota and Hawaii. I’ve also visited Canada and Mexico. I lived in Germany and have visited eleven other countries in Europe. I currently live in China and also in Asia I have visited Japan, Thailand, Indonesia, the Maldives, and Singapore. As for work, I’ve been a brickyard worker, paint and wallpaper salesman, cashier, musician, storyteller, information clerk, sales manager, English as a Second Language teacher, middle school teacher, janitor, grocery store clerk, delivery man, police and ambulance dispatcher, temp on construction projects, and park ranger, which also included doing educational programs, library work, law enforcement, fire fighting, and emergency medicine. I’ve done light construction and worked on a farm helping raise chickens, ducks, geese, Guinea fowl, goats, vegetables, fruits, nuts and medicinal herbs.'
