SATIRE Today is for the entertainment and enjoyment of those who still have a sense of humor. In our post-modern, post-Brexit, post-world-economic-crisis world, it seems it’s all about shortages and deficiencies, isn’t it? Water, food, housing, jobs – you name it, we don’t have it. Meanwhile, have you noticed that what is lacking most of all today is humor? The result is an ‘immune’ boost to an unstoppable virus – political correctness, control and stupidity – released from Pandora’s jar, which has now morphed into so-called safe spaces.Satire has been around since the days of Aristophanes in ancient Greece, aimed at reflecting on past, present, divine and earthly. This book brings things up to date with an international perspective, using satire, ridicule, and criticism, with reference to actual historical or current events, public figures and politicians, as well as issues concerning governmental and educational institutions, bureaucracy, political correctness and other forms of censorship. Characters from mythology and Saints from Heaven also make appearances on occasion. The goal of this book is to be entertaining and perhaps stimulating, covering topics not covered by other satire writers. The reader may also learn something along the way, which includes stops at Brussels, Mount Olympus, London, Paris, Hollywood, Washington, D.C. and Bariloche (Argentina), even if it’s only a new or different prospective. The author’s favorite targets are politicians, recent elections, BREXIT, political correctness, copyright law as applicable to monkey-selfies and soft sculpture (dog poop), and of course EU bureaucracy and its stream of endless regulations (large, small and petty), as well as the Greek bailout with its shabby and harsh treatment of Greece under the guise of a rescue plan. 3

Stuart Evans’s first novel is a comedy-of-ill-manners set in a nouveau riche milieu: a fantastic satirical performance and hyper-referential homage to masters past and present. Paul Keller is the Stephen Dedalus of the piece, the son of Robert and Sylvie, whose internal monologue is spliced into the action, and whose incestuous feelings for his sister lead to an increase in his...
