Fuamah District, Lower Bong County, Republic of Liberia. A German Geologist discovered the 8th wonder of the world, situated along the St. Paul River. It’s a picturesque landscape, a potential tourism paradise, worth millions of dollars. Notified, J. Boima Barclay, the district representative, quickly moved to convince the elders of Maila, the little-known town whose vicinity it is located, about its value and wealth. But soon finds out that, a longtime ago, a traditional prohibition was decreed to preserve their land. Years later, times have changed. Lured into transforming this impoverished little town, the elders declared the decree obsolete. But this became a sacrilege; an abomination. Sengbeh Gbelema, the town’s black smith, has vowed to uphold the prohibition. Anyone trespassing on this sacred heritage, risks facing the wrath of his 'Sassaywoo,' an ancient trial by ordeal. O enders are tortured by the radiance of his steel, and their souls are tormented with the flames of hell. J. Boima Barclay Jr, the old representative’s son, returns to Maila to begin its transformation. Unfortunately, he was tangled in Sengbeh’s ordeal’s verdict code. Can he save himself and the town?Joseph Akoi Zeze presents a Liberian Horror Novel, 'SASSAYWOO: Trial by Ordeal'.

Paul Keller is the Stephen Dedalus of the piece, the son of Robert and Sylvie, whose internal monologue is spliced into the action, and whose incestuous feelings for his sister lead to an increase in his...
