Diese Arbeit befasst sich mit den wichtigsten Konzepten zum Thema Sanierung degradierter Flächen und präsentiert eine Fallstudie aus der Gemeinde Vilhena im Bundesstaat Rondônia, wo ein Projekt zur Sanierung degradierter und veränderter Flächen (PRADA) entwickelt wurde, um die Vegetation eines Naturschutzgebiets wiederherzustellen. Diese Fallstudie soll allen Interessierten den grundlegenden Ablauf der Umsetzung eines PRADA und die dabei angewandten Sanierungstechniken aufzeigen. Die Studie hat nicht zum Ziel, das Thema erschöpfend zu behandeln, sondern einen Beitrag zu den aktuellen theoretischen und praktischen Aspekten der Sanierung degradierter Flächen zu leisten und allen Interessierten als Hilfsmittel zu dienen. Die Studie basiert auf einer allgemeinen Analyse der brasilianischen Umweltgesetzgebung und insbesondere der Landesgesetzgebung sowie auf Normen, Referenzbedingungen für Verfahren, die von der Umweltbehörde von Rondônia angewendet werden, und den von dieser geforderten Umweltstudien.
