A NOVEL OF TERROR AND MEDICAL SUSPENSEPeople put their lives in doctors’ hands every day-but in no other situation is this so literally true as at the moment the anesthesiologist looks down at you and says, 'You’ll be going off to sleep now . . .'In that moment, the imagination runs wild. Rarely is fear so present. As you lie there, defenseless, you remember the horror stories. Everyone’s heard them. The accidental overdose that ends in death, or worse, a permanently vegetative state. The breathing circuit that disconnects while the doctor is out in the lounge drinking coffee. Granted, these situations are rare, and anesthesia has never been as predictably safe as it is today. But what if the eyes that gaze at you in that moment of trust and surrender belong to a madman? What if, as you slip into oblivion, you see something in those eyes so rank and terrifying you want to leap off the table and flee? But by then of course, it’s too late.A novel of terror and suspense by the author of Here After and Finders Keepers.Pray you never meet the Sandman . . .
