Martín de Porres es un santo para todos nosotros y en todas las épocas. Nació en Perú en 1579 y murió a los sesenta años.Su vida supo combinar la pasión apostólica de Santo Domingo, el amor simple por la creación de San Francisco y la compasión infinita por los pobres y los enfermos de la Madre Teresa de Calcuta. En 1962 fue canonizado canonizados por Juan Pablo XXIII. San Martín no escribió ningún libro o plegaria ni sermones. Su vida fue su predicación. Inició una nueva expresión de la vida espiritual: radical, simple y santa. Tuvo el don de la alegría espontánea y una capacidad para convertir el sufrimiento y la opresión de los pobres en un encuentro con Dios. Por esta razón, se lo conoce como el santo patrono de la justicia social. Los invitamos a explorar la vida y espiritualidad de este fraile pobre de Sudamérica, que ahora vive en el esplendor del reino de Dios.
