’San Martín de Porras es una biografía del santo limeño Martín de Porras Velásquez (1579-1639) producto de una acuciosa investigación histórica. Gracias a los testimonios de familiares, amigos, religiosos y vecinos se ha podido conocer en detalle la vida monástica del primer santo mulato de América.Hijo natural de hidalgo español y negra liberta, perteneció a la escala más baja del escalafón eclesiástico. Fue un «donado», es decir, se dio a sí mismo como esclavo a Dios y al convento para rezar, trabajar y servir. Sin embargo, logró que ricos y pobres, blancos, negros e indios, virreyes y arzobispos lo aclamen unánimemente santo.’
