Sakuntala; Or Sakuntala Recognized By The Ring: A Sanskrit Drama In Seven Acts by Kalidasa is a classic Indian play that tells the story of Sakuntala, a beautiful and virtuous maiden who falls in love with King Dushyanta. The play is set in ancient India and is full of romance, intrigue, and drama. The story begins when King Dushyanta, while hunting in the forest, meets Sakuntala and falls in love with her at first sight. They exchange vows of love and Dushyanta gives her a ring as a symbol of their love. However, he is called away on urgent matters of state and must leave Sakuntala behind, promising to return and marry her. As time passes, Sakuntala discovers that she is pregnant with Dushyanta’s child and eagerly awaits his return. However, when she goes to the palace to meet him, he does not recognize her and denies ever having met her. Heartbroken and alone, Sakuntala returns to the forest where she gives birth to a son. The drama unfolds as Sakuntala’s son grows up and becomes involved in a series of events that eventually lead to the recognition of his mother by the ring that Dushyanta had given her. The play ends with the reunion of Sakuntala and Dushyanta and the happy resolution of the story. Overall, Sakuntala; Or Sakuntala Recognized By The Ring is a beautiful and timeless play that explores themes of love, loyalty, and the power of destiny. It is a masterpiece of Indian literature and a must-read for anyone interested in the rich cultural heritage of India. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Blood in the battle for racial equality is no surprise, but f...

The most astonishing thing is the sureness with which everything is controlled, explained, justified, in the most extravagant buffoonery. The cross-purpose...
