Celem niniejszej pracy była analiza ubóstwa z uwzględnieniem cech ekonomicznych, kapitału ludzkiego, infrastruktury i środowiska w stanie Ceará z wielowymiarowej perspektywy. W tym celu obliczono wielowymiarowy wskaźnik ubóstwa (IPM) dla 184 gmin na podstawie danych wtórnych uzyskanych od IPECE, IBGE i PNUD, uwzględniając lata 2000 i 2010. Obliczony wskaźnik składał się z czterech kategorii wskaźników: kapitał ludzki, gospodarka, infrastruktura i środowisko.
