Based loosely on factual evidence, the book tells the story of unrequited love between two young Fijian children who had made a promise to each other, that they will spend their whole lives together. The years and memories fail our youthful needs and proceed into an unknown area of uncertainty and despair. We fail to remember and therefore erase our minds into thinking it never occurred. That is what happened to Baloo. Born to a wealthy family, That Kalika household had accumulated wealth over the last 80 years allowing their family to be the wealthiest family in the South Pacific. Baloo had no time for materialistic things he wanted to study, and had made his father very proud of him, which upset his brothers and his step-mother. The fight to discredit Baloo had been by his brother’s jealousy and envious nature.
