'This work was authored by Wu Yugong, a novelist of the late Qing Dynasty. Comprising thirty chapters, it chronicles the origins, establishment, and development of the Qing and Hong Societies, spanning from the 20th year of the Qianlong reign (1747) to the end of the Qing Dynasty. The narrative is largely set across regions such as Anhui, Jiangsu, Shandong, and Zhejiang. While the account does not wholly align with historical records, it draws substantial historical basis. Consequently, it holds value not only as a literary novel but also offers scholarly reference for research into the history of the Qing and Hong Societies.本书为清末小说家吴虞公所作。全书三十回，叙述了青红帮的起始、成立和发展的历史。从乾隆二十年（1747）到清朝末年。故事背景大抵在安徽、江苏、山东、浙江等地。本书叙述内容，虽非与历史全部吻合，但多有所本，因此不但有一半文学小说的价值，对于青红帮的历史研究也有一定的参考价值。
