Do you know that you, too, can be a poet? Everyone has this ability that lives within their loving self. Most people stifle it from fear of being vulnerable, laughed at, or criticized. So their inspiration is never allowed to bloom.Let this little book of poems inspire you to express to your lover, your partner, whoever is sentimentally or emotionally involved in your life some tender thoughts in poetry. You’ll be amazed at the reaction you’ll get. Who can fault an intent to try? Be bold, be brave, be loving. My wife and I have an amazing romance that continues to this day. I reviewed the love poems I had written to her from the beginning of our romance and realized they make a story in poems that I thought others would enjoy. Here then, is my book of poetry dedicated to my wife, Romance in Bloom: Sweet Sayings for One’s Sweetie.Robert Temple Frost of Boulder, Colorado, started writing poems during his first vacation to Maui, Hawaii. The beauty of nature and the people there inspired him to express his feelings in poetry as a natural response to all things beautiful. He earned a BS in finance from the University of Colorado at Boulder, and is retired from the federal government. He has published two other books, The KNOWERS - First move and The KNOWERS - Second Move. Both are available on his website, http://BeAKnower.com. A novel written for middle-graders, LONG TRIP HOME, was published in 2013 by Strategic Books. He is working on the sequel.

    K D Halliwell
The ambiguously titled Love Bites is the debut offering from K D Halliwell, a Milton Keynes based author who describes the collection as a document of her twenties. Original and with a format that stands out from the ordinary, it is proving particularly well-received by those who “don’t normally like poetry”. Originally written by hand, the author has traversed a fine line betw...

  • Polishing the Silver
    Jennifer Chrystie
‘There’s a touch of both Dickinson and Larkin in Jennifer Chrystie’s mature exhumation of the tales and tropes of family. Figures who could so easily flit like phantoms in her well honed poetry are palpably enjoying an after-life in the poet’s ability to redeem through deep understanding. The collection arcs from, at one extreme, the parsimonies of the household, to the transce...

  • One Kiss
    Edward V Bonner
The very title of Edward V. Bonner's first volume of poetry, One Kiss (Ingram, 2015), suggests some ways in which the poems inside balance the universal with the particular. Most of the poems examine the themes of beauty and risk, pleasure and danger, in the context of one of three kinds of relationships: to romantic partners, to the spiritual world, and to the world of nature....

  • Nature All Around Us
    Robert Temple Frost
Not a day passes when I go outside to drive to the Rec Center, that I’ll see and hear birds. Ravens are the most common. If I’m not in a hurry I’ll mimic the raven’s call, if I can see him, and the bird sees me. Sometimes it will move its wings in rhythm with its response call. I like that kind of response. On that same drive I might see a fox. One trip I saw one that had just ...
