I have tried to group round the central figure of Cicero various sketches of men and manners, and so to give my readers some idea of what life actually was in Rome, and the provinces of Rome, during the first six decades-to speak roughly-of the first century B.C.'Alfred John Church (1829-1912) was a British classical scholar and writer. He was primarily known for his translations of ancient Greek and Roman literature, making these classical texts accessible to English-speaking audiences. In addition to his translations, Church also authored original works on history, mythology, and literature.This new large print edition comes with an Easy to Read Layout designed to make reading comfortable.
