Roman de la Rose est un poème allégorique médiéval français écrit en ancien français. Conçu comme un roman courtois, il raconte sous forme allégorique la quête de l’Amour par un jeune homme. Le poème fut commencé par Guillaume de Lorris vers 1230, mais inachevé. Il fut repris et considérablement augmenté par Jean de Meun vers 1275-1280. Cette œuvre, d’une grande importance dans l’histoire de la littérature française, explore les thèmes de l’amour courtois, de la séduction, et de la nature humaine à travers une série d’allégories et de personnages symboliques. L’édition complète comprend les deux parties du roman, offrant une expérience de lecture intégrale de ce classique médiéval.
