Dos amigos se ponen de acuerdo para robarle una propiedad de gran valor ubicada en Laredo, Texas, a un delincuente prófugo de la justicia norteamericana buscado por la DEA, que se encuentra huyendo y se refugia en México. Para ello trazan un plan que incluye el robo de los documentos de la propiedad, la desaparición física de la víctima y posteriormente, valiéndose de argucias legales, de contactos en el aparato judicial y de la corrupción de algunos sectores de este medio, quedarse con la propiedad. Al final, después de muchas peripecias y complicaciones, solo uno de ellos consigue el objetivo.También trata un poco la psicología y motivaciones de algunos de estos personajes. Aborda también aunque superficialmente algunas de las prácticas esotéricas muy socorridas por muchos de estos personajes.Robos legales contiene lenguaje y situaciones crudas, como lo son en la vida real este tipo de personajes y situaciones que son parte del relato y por desgracia una realidad actual en muchas partes del país.
