L’obiettivo di questo libro è quello di fornire nuove riflessioni sul rapporto tra arte, psicoanalisi e follia, spostandole dal campo dell’interpretazione e della pulsione a quello della relazione, pensando allo spazio di creazione e all’invenzione di nuovi modi per i soggetti 'cosiddetti folli' di vivere sostenuti nella/alla loro storia di fronte all’incontro con l’arte. Lo studio è stato condotto con due residenti che da oltre dieci anni frequentano il Laboratorio di Creatività dell’Ospedale Psichiatrico di São Pedro e con quattro operatori del laboratorio che vi lavorano. In questo modo, attraverso i viaggi, gli incontri e le riflessioni fornite da questa ricerca, è stato possibile comprendere l’arte come holding, perché nel processo di creazione di opere d’arte, i soggetti affrontati sostengono le loro storie e le mantengono vive e attive nel processo di inventare la vita e se stessi.
