'RETRO' is a Romanian musical and literary muse society that has been active within the Chicago diaspora since 2017. Its roots lie in cultural movements such as Cenaclul Flacăra and The Poetry of Youthful Music, which shaped Romania in the 1980s.This book gathers a small part of the Retro Muse Society’s story, marking its fifth anniversary. It is a simple story-the story of the Romanian emigrant who does not lose identity or authenticity, no matter where in the world life may lead. The Retro Muse Society continues to delight the hearts of Romanians who long to rediscover a piece of their homeland, far from home, through song and poetry.
