Die deutsche Übersetzung des Werkes stammt von Artur Buchenau1.Es werden die ersten beiden von den insgesamt sechs Meditationen betrachtet, welche überschrieben sind mit „Erste Meditation: Woran man zweifeln kann.' und „Zweite Meditation: Über die Natur des menschlichen Geistes; daß er leichter erkennbar als der Körper.'. Ziel der Arbeit ist das Herausarbeiten der Struktur und Argumente dieser Meditationen. Außerdem soll darauf geachtet werden, ob Descartes die Absichten seiner Meditationen, welche er in den jeweiligen Überschriften beschreibt, erfüllt.
