As the volume of this title suggests, these poems present memories of persons and places and events, many from Mr. Carlson’s childhood. The perspective, of course, is more current. There is humor, some whimsy and love, some regret and shame and, occasionally, some anger remembered. But it still is plain that description is the name of the game. If you like Norman Rockwell’s paintings, you will like these poems. You are likely to remember some people you never met.
