Religio Medici: A Letter To A Friend, Christian Morals, Urn Burial, And Other Papers is a collection of writings by Thomas Browne, first published in 1642. The book includes a letter to a friend in which Browne discusses his religious beliefs, as well as essays on Christian morals and the nature of death. The title essay, Religio Medici, is a personal confession of faith and a defense of the author’s religious views. Urn Burial is an exploration of the ancient practice of cremation and burial, and its implications for the human experience. Other papers in the collection include essays on various topics, such as the nature of dreams and the practice of alchemy. This 1862 edition of the book includes a preface by the editor, Sir James Paget, and a biographical sketch of Browne’s life and work. Browne’s prose is known for its poetic and imaginative style, and his works have been influential in the fields of literature, philosophy, and medicine.This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
