Neste trabalho, procurou-se estabelecer uma relação entre a motivação humana - que se divide em intrínseca e extrínseca - e o conceito de autotranscendência. O enquadramento teórico baseou-se em numerosos estudos e definições que se revelaram relevantes para a posterior análise estatística. A amostra foi composta por N = 132 participantes. Para testar a hipótese principal - se existe uma relação entre a motivação humana e o conceito de autotranscendência -, foi calculada uma correlação de Spearman. Antes disso, foram utilizados dois questionários relevantes para a recolha de dados. Com o Adult Self-Transcendence Inventory (ASTI) de Levenson et al. (2005), foi possível avaliar a autotranscendência e, com o Aspiration Index (AI) de Deci e Ryan (1997), baseado em Kasser e Ryan (1993), foi possível avaliar a motivação humana.
