Disciples of Jesus are regularly called on to show in real life that the biblical outlook responds to human needs and desires in a way that other views do not. At its most basic level, the Bible is about God taking the initiative through the work of Jesus Christ to rescue humanity from the sin that separates us from him and then teaching us how to live faithfully in our restored relationship with him.Divided into three parts, Reinforcing the Foundations is a collection of textual expositions that call readers to see the Lord more clearly; better appreciate the power of sin, reality of separation, and joy of salvation; and renew themselves to committed service to God. Each chapter encourages readers to renew their focus by thinking more deeply about its theme, a process designed to stimulate additional study of other passages on the same theme with the goal of a deeper understanding of God, sin, separation, and service. Questions at the end of each chapter are designed to facilitate additional reflection and discussion.
