Como economista y docente/investigador, considero mi deber proporcionar conocimiento y formación no solo a mis estudiantes, profesionales, sino también a las personas, ciudadanos que desconocen y que no son del área económica. Por lo que como investigador tengo el compromiso de proveer día a día a los estudiantes y a la comunidad en general, las herramientas necesarias para conocer, interpretar y comprender la compleja realidad nacional y de la región centroamericana pero principalmente el de mí país, como son problemas económicos, políticos, sociales, educativos y del mundo para que éstos intervengan y se comprometan de manera reflexiva, critica y propositiva con el proceso de transformación histórico-social, que pretenda y los lleve al mejoramiento de la calidad de vida del hombre y a la mujer en sus entornos.
