Reflection is a story of two families a history as old as time itself. Bridging a century taking you from Poncho Villa’s Mexico and New England Connecticut where in the early twentieth century social stature, in life, is important, how you achieved that position is not. Through today, and a woman’s journey to find the truth in a spiders web of lies hidden for ninety years. Second Lieutenant Charles Black assigned to General Pershing as Attaché during America’s expeditionary incursion into Mexico to capture Poncho Villa. Meets and falls in love with Louise Theresa Guiterrez the only daughter of a wealthy horse breeder supplying Pershing’s force with fresh mounts. Their love is a story of hate, death, and obsession. Charles free in Mexico to be his own man makes the fateful decision to travel back to America with Louise his new wife to have their child born in his family home in 'Connecticut'. He once again falls under the domination of his mother Charlotte. Weak and addicted to opium Charles enters the loveless union his mother demands finally achieving the high social status Charlotte craves at what price. Secrets and lies dominate the lives of three generations of women climaxing in the revelation that we are not who we have been lead to believe we are. Marie great-granddaughter of Louise and Charles must do just that, to find the truth after the death of her grandmother. Marie must follow the reflection that is herself and take a journey oftentimes heartbreaking but always directing her a place that echo’s freedom.

Paul Keller is the Stephen Dedalus of the piece, the son of Robert and Sylvie, whose internal monologue is spliced into the action, and whose incestuous feelings for his sister lead to an increase in his...
