L’industrie extractive, en particulier, a longtemps eu la réputation de ne pas en faire assez pour les communautés locales au lendemain de conflits violents. Pourtant, le point de vue opposé affirme que les grandes compagnies pétrolières contribuent à la reprise économique des sociétés déchirées par la guerre. Cette étude examine donc de manière critique le rôle des compagnies pétrolières internationales pendant la phase de reconstruction post-conflit des pays en proie à des conflits violents ou dévastés par des années de guerre civile.
