A El-Dekhaila iron Co. importava as pelotas do exterior do Egito e, durante o transporte do exterior para a empresa, formava-se uma grande quantidade de finos (finos de pelotas de resíduos), que não eram adequados para a redução no forno de redução. O hidrogénio provou ser um bom agente redutor, bem como um material amigo do ambiente. Este livro foi realizado para se concentrar na produção de resíduos de óxido de ferro de El-Dekhaila em diferentes formas (briquete e pellets) e reduzi-los por hidrogénio na faixa de temperatura de 700 a 950 oC. No estudo da cinética de redução, o modelo mais satisfatório foi o de tomar o declive da região linear inicial da curva de redução fraccionada vs. tempo como medida da constante de velocidade (k). Os gráficos de k vs. 1/T eram linhas rectas a partir das quais se calculou a energia de ativação.
