La recherche des neutrinos stériles est un domaine actif de la physique des particules pour diverses raisons. Premièrement, de nouveaux états de neutrinos ont été proposés pour comprendre des énigmes non résolues dans les données passées. Deuxièmement, il existe de bonnes justifications théoriques pour introduire de tels neutrinos lourds. Enfin, les neutrinos stériles pourraient expliquer la matière noire observée dans notre univers. L’objectif de cet ouvrage est de passer en revue la phénoménologie de ces états hypothétiques des neutrinos, puis de résumer les contraintes actuelles issues à la fois des considérations cosmologiques/astrophysiques et des mesures en laboratoire.
