This writing is intended to increase the knowledge on the issues of substance use and abuse. The content of this book reveals the challenges of people who use substances, who are severely stigmatized, discriminated and marginalized. Some countries have one of the largest populations who use substances than any place on earth and apparently a large number of people who use drugs behind bars. This book paints a picture of pain and desperation of people who use/used drugs and alcohol. It states the struggle of individuals and the state of direction, the humanity is heading and as a result how the society has changed. Initial part of the writing starts with early years of the author, his family, the environment which he grew up, his substance use and ends with a positive note to people who want to change from the destructive pattern that occurs due to the use of illicit substances in higher quantities. A large population of this world might have heard the popular slogan “Say no to drugs”; however curious individuals may want to know, why you should say no to drugs. If it is the case, then this book answers their curiosity. If you have stumbled across, found or bought this writing. Then it is suggested that you to read this without bias and with an open mind, so that you will see things in your own perspective.
