Beware the Sworn of the Raven, with claws of steel and beaks sharp to feast upon all flesh. The Bronze Dragons of Denay are defeated, their power over the Grand Kingdom broken for good, but victory has come at the highest of prices. As the rest of the army of the Usurper Daven Marcus retreats into the heartlands, they take precious hostages with them. Gathering every man-at-arms and ally who will answer the call, Prentice Ash and Marquis-Consort Farringdon launch their campaign to rescue the kidnapped women, to smash the remnant of the Denay army for good and end to the kingslayer’s tyranny. But Daven Marcus is not the only enemy the White Lions must face. The Silent Hand of the Inquisition have guided the Grand Kingdom through secrecy and sorcery for a millennium. In dreams and visions, they have appeared as birds, singing false songs and preying on all the folk of the Grand Kingdom. Now they emerge from the shadows, revealing at last their full power. On forgotten paths, the Silent Hand’s elite warriors, the Sworn of the Raven, ride forth from the hidden Vault Above the Pit. Storm crows that herald only slavery and death for the Grand Kingdom, the Raven knights will not release their master’s grip on the chains that have enslaved all for a thousand years, any more than Daven Marcus will let his precious hostages slip from his clutches. Every foe is roused against the Western Reach. Prentice and Farringdon must take the fight to many enemies, not only for the sake of their loved ones, but for the future of the entire Grand Kingdom.
