To glimpse the truth of human nature, one must read Akutagawa. 'Rashōmon' reveals the alienation of humanity and ethical breakthroughs within the struggles of existence. Rashōmon' is a collection of classic works by the Japanese author Ryūnosuke Akutagawa. The volume includes Akutagawa’s seminal essays and stories such as 'Rashōmon', 'Toshishun', 'The Register of the Dead', and 'Scrolls of Rebirth', among others. The selected pieces primarily explore the universal, self-serving nature of humanity across past and present, expose the ugliness of reality, and reflect personal sentiments, indirectly illuminating the spiritual life of Japanese youth in the early 20th century. With profound themes and an elegant prose style, Akutagawa became a master of the Japanese short story and occupies a significant place in modern literature. Many of the selections in this book are renowned classics within the short story genre.《罗生门》是日本作家芥川龙之介的经典作品选集。
