It covers the basics of radioactivity and the mechanisms of radioactive decay used to estimate the age of archaeological remains.The book focuses on two major methods: carbon-14 dating, suitable for organic materials from the last 50,000 years, and uranium series dating, used for older carbonate and biological materials.Particular attention is given to sampling strategies, material selection criteria, and collaboration between archaeologists and specialists in isotopic analysis.
