These older traditions existed first and were later presented as uniquely Euro-Gentile. Salvation is explained as knowledge of Self, not an external belief in a spook God outside of oneself. The Kingdom of God is understood as something within, not somewhere in the sky. It builds its teachings across many sections throughout the book. All sections follow this same line of thought.
