Nel presente volume si è cercato di fornire un’introduzione alle acque sotterranee, con particolare attenzione alle tecniche di rilevamento, alla qualità, alla contaminazione e alle precauzioni relative allo stoccaggio e alla ricarica. L’importanza delle acque sotterranee nel soddisfare la crescente domanda dei settori agricolo, industriale e domestico è innegabile, ma l’estrazione di acqua dalle falde tramite attività di raccolta e ricarica è sempre associata all’immissione di contaminanti quali pesticidi e prodotti agrochimici utilizzati in agricoltura. Questi contaminanti possono trasformare l’acqua in forma pura, ovvero le acque sotterranee, in acqua inquinata. Il presente studio tiene conto della necessità di un’indagine approfondita sulla presenza di tali contaminanti nelle acque sotterranee a causa della ricarica.
